We know it can be tough to maintain your own program at a traditional gym, and you may not get the attention you were hoping for from a group fitness class. At Grassroots Fitness Project, we offer both group fitness classes and personal training so you can choose the best combination for your fitness lifestyle. Our small group fitness classes will allow trainers to give you the attention you need to feel confident in every workout. If you want more one-on-one time to develop a skill or reach a goal, you can set up personal training sessions with anyone on our team of trainers.
THE GRASSROOTS FITNESS PHILOSOPHY
Our approach to fitness is about building a foundation of movements that can be easily accessible to our members, regardless of their fitness level. By focusing on these movements, we can modify and progress our workouts to meet the needs of our members, whether they are looking to improve their general fitness or working on a specific fitness goal. Grassroots Fitness Project exists to be the conduit for your ideal lifestyle and for any fitness project you are working on.
When boutique fitness was not even a word, we had an idea. Our idea came from spending a combined 15 years training and managing at large scale commercial gyms. During that time, it became clear to us that a fitness company’s sustained success must be tied directly to the success of its clients. Our most successful clients knew that purchasing a gym membership was not enough. They needed tangible information on how to use the gym, and they needed to feel comfortable regardless of their fitness level.
Our idea was to create a boutique fitness studio that had everything that many commercial gyms were missing - education on the why and how of fitness, a team of trainers to lead you through your workouts and keep you motivated, and a community where you feel respected and supported. We opened Grassroots Fitness Project in 2004, and since then have moved from our duplex apartment studio to a fully functional fitness studio in the Upper West Side where our growing team of trainers provide programming from Group Fitness Classes to Personal Training to Youth Programs.
We want to help people get to a place of true well being and believe that a high quality training experience should be accessible to anyone willing to commit and put in the work. We believe in making a difference in people’s lives from the core, not the surface. Beyond weight management goals and aesthetic gain, there is a driving force for a person to cause in their life. We aim to fuel that driving force. This is the Grassroots Fitness Project.
